Default tranny 911.....

ok....sorry didnt search for along time..kinda in a rush to find a ride to borrow.

short of it....was going down the road...stopped at intersection...noticed rpms jump slightly...sat waited for light and...NO GO!!!

i tried to engage front axle to move...axle will engage, no power though...fluid is good...no burn smell.
cable moves freely and i can see it shift at the tranny.

i am guessing i blew tranny finally.
so i need to find one to swap in asap while i find funds to rebuild old one over summer.

am i wrong? any thing else it could be?

there are no codes or ses lights...4x moves thru all stages.
driveshaft feels tight when i try to rotate by hand.

any advice would be great....preparing for the worse

thanks guys.

I went thru all gears. And 4x combos trying to move it.
no power to the wheels front or back.
i can hear front axle engage and transcase shift....just no power to wheels.

Never made any grinding noises either....just sounded like it dropped into nuetral and stayed there.
I had it in first with wife behind wheel letting it idle and i could push it backwards...

What about the wiring going to the shift solenoids & or fuses? Might be the torque converter. I know when my trans cooler blew a line off it was sluggish while I crept off the road with the TC pumping fluid out the line & all over.

Have you verified that the shift cable is still connected? Does it go into park properly?

Yeah no noise or grinding & a sudden loss of power when at idle doesn't seem to be internal, mechanical issue. Unless a or some seals suddenly popped.

Is the trans controled by the PCM or BCM? Something that sudden & noiseless screams electrical to me. It IS a 4L60E afterall

Not too sure on checking the TC but 1 way to see if it's pumping is to take off the trans cooler line leading to the rad, put the end in a bucket, start the truck & put it in neutral or in D. It should pump fluid out.
