Default tranny ?

Hello all I have a 98 4X4 -4 door 4.3. Shifting from park to any selected gear PRND321 is very hard, I disconnected the linkage it is smooth on both ends and the leg on the tranny moves fine, however when all connected it is very hard to move! Any suggestions, Thanks in advance

Sounds like the cable is binding. Have you tried moving the cable while it's disconnected?

So, the shifter moves fine, the lever on the transmission moves fine, and the cable moves fine, but you put them together and it binds? I'm stumped.

Check routing of cable and and any mounting brackets - something may have flipped up off the road and got tweeked causing miss alignment and causing a bind when assembled
