tranny fluid change opinions...
ok, i have neglected to change tranny fluid and filter for sometime....
with that being said, i have read opinions that if you have an older tranny and old fluid that when you change the filter you should reuse the old fluid.
any truth to this? it seems counter productive..thats why i figured i would ask fellow owners their views?

I have never heard that you should use the old fluid. I agree with you that it seems kinda counter productive.
I will give you a couple of pieces of advice since I just did mine a few weeks ago. (1) Support the back of the transmission and pull the support out of the way, it will make loosening and tightening the back four bolts much easier, and pulling the pan. (2) If your shift linkage is bolted to the pan like mine was (2000 4Dr.) a ratcheting box end wrench is invaluable because it is very tight.
Good Luck Man!
