Default tranny stuck in 1st and 2nd

well my blazer now has only 2 gears, the trans was fine before, the rear was just replaced due to blowout, only thing different from the rear axle is drum brakes, before it was 4 wheel disk, any clue why?

From the 4L60E Information & Common Problems - Compilation:

- No forward movement in OD or D, but L2, L1 and R work: Forward sprag is broken. R&R. Try not to run or drive the car or further damage could result.

And this is likely what is going on:

- Transmission does not shift automatically, only manually. Swap in a known-good PCM, check wiring, check other sensors such as VSS and TPS.

Default I believe I have the same problems...

Is it difficult to replace the forward sprag? Does it involve opening the tranny? Any info would be appreciated greatly!

Yes you must open the tranny to replace the forward sprag. While its open you should have it rebuilt.

IT may be cheaper to replace the tranny with a salvage yard unit that has a warrenty. If you do go the salvage yard route, put in one can of tranny shock instead of 1 qt of tranny fluid.
