Default transmission?

ok ive got a few questions, sorry if im bothering anybody. ok so here's what happens

when i put it into reverse, theres a VERY loud aggravating clunk, and then when i put it into drive from there, there's still a clunk just not as loud, any gear i put it into it makes the same noise... ? anybody know whats up?

also when i take off sometimes, slow or fast, theres a knocking sound, the more i accelerate the faster the knocking is, i've heard a few things (rod knocking, torque converter, transmission) a whole bunch of crap... does anybody know??

btw its a 97 blazer ls 4X4

Sounds like you are describing a u-joint failing. Put the parking brake on, put it in neutral and check out that rear drive shaft.

sounds like a u joint. I replaced mine a few months ago... I can't believe that thing didn't just lock up and flip me over on the interstate..
