Default transmission???

Hi guys just a quick question.I have a 1978 blazer engine,350 trans th350 rebuilt running strong from monster transmission, 1800-2200 Stall Torque Converter etc when in park or drive on a hill(even a small one) it will roll backwards i heard with a higher stall torque converter that this happens? i have rolled 6 or so feet and it doesnt catch????? is this normal for such an old vehicle? my goal is having a really good offroading truck for moab as i live in utah so lets say the breaks give out whats to stop me from rolling backwards? ......any input you guys could give me would be great as i am still fairly new at rebuilding a truck

It should not roll in park at all. What do you have for a transfer case in it? Do you have lockout hubs on the front axle?

Sounds like someone did not put in the part-time conversion kit for the transfer case... Does everything get better when you have the hubs locked in on the front axle?

hmm i found out today with fiddling with it if i slam the shifter in park it seems to work (i will do some more testing to be sure) so if thats the case i will just get a floor shifter and change the linkage maybe it's bent?

The linkage can be adjusted. Take a look at it.
