Transmission Issue: Please Help
OK you Blazer experts, here's one for you: I have a '98 4X4 Blazer that has a transmission problem. The symptoms point to the VSS. The transmission won't shift and the speedometer doesn't work--that is until it warms up after driving a couple of miles (very slowly). Then it shifts fine and the speedometer works as though no problem exists. However, I hooked it up to a code reader and it gave the code : PO 740 Torque Converter Circuit Clutch / Open. I know this is not the VSS code. Is it possibly giving the wrong code or what? Thank all of you for your input!!!
The code reader is probably giving you incorrect information. Need to have it scanned with proper OEM software. Be great if you could get a live data stream to actually watch what is happening. I believe that there are 3 possibilities on transfer cases in that year so make sure you get the parts for your vehicle. Good luck!
