In my recent post I explained I had a ruptured line in my engine bay that was pissing oil/fluid after driving. (1994 Blazer S10 Sport 4speed auto)
I'm having trouble finding the source of a ruptured line in my engine bay. A friend of mine came and had a look with me, we tried to trace the ruptured line that was in my engine bay (at first it was on top of the passenger side exhaust manifold. Here it was pissing fluid down my chassis). I climbed onto the core support and stuck my hand down the back of the engine and felt where the line seems to go, as far as I could feel it goes down to the transmission. So we started the car and checked to see if there was any fluid seepage coming from the line, but no dice. We checked the trans fluid and it was dead empty... That might explain what was leaking, trans fluid. Luckily the last time I drove the car it was still pissing fluid.
So knowing that we set out to google and we found an old forum post, this post had a diagram on it. It showed 3 lines coming from the trans or transfercase. One line coming up (right next to my ruptured one) that goes to a vacuum pump underneath the battery tray that sends a cable into the front differential. The other are still a mystery. Looking around the engine bay we could not figure out where the ruptured line exactly comes from or even goes to. In the forum post someone mentioned that if the trans spits oil/fluid it could have to do with an overfilled trans (well it was dead empty so that's not it) or that the trans oil cooler pump might've **** the bed causing the oil to overheat and **** out my ruptured line. That's our theory at least.
So my question is does anyone know what this line could be? Where it's supposed to go? What purpose it servers? Or does anyone have any vacuum lines or any diagram relating to the transmission/engine/transfercase and the lines that might connect them.
The ruptured line that goes down the back of the engine, presumably to the trans. Where I need to know the source/end of. Red indicates the ruptured line that goes down the back of the engine. Green indicates the line the runs next to the Red line, the Green line goes to underneath the battery tray into a vacuum pump for the front diff
I have read that one of the vacuum lines that connects to the transfer case can draw transmission fluid if a seal fails in the transmission ot transfer case.
These three vacuum lines are suppose to control the transfer case.
Just checked it over with a mechanic that works on Chevy's.
He indeed confirmed this and said I'd have to pull the transfercase and gear box, and have them both rebuilt. Since we're not in the US it's going to costs around 3.000 euros....
The size of the fluid cooling line fittings depends on the type of transmission and the type of vehicle it is installed in. It is best to consult your vehicle's owner's manual or a local parts store to determine the correct size of the fittings. Additionally, most auto parts stores will carry the necessary fittings for your vehicle.
That would most likely be a vent line for the transfer case, which is probably overly-full of transmission fluid. Pull the inspection plug on the transfer case and see if it is way overfilled. If so you only need to replace the seal between the transfer case and the transmission (not rebuild them). I would find another mechanic or do it yourself.

Thanks for your reply! After countles of google searches I found that would be the issue indeed! I have since sold the car and never fixed the issue myself lol. I do miss seeing parked infront of my house with a puddle underneath it.

I see now that Mimi Moore replied to an ancient thread and sucked me in! Sorry!
