Default Transmission not going in gear

I have a 1994 S10 Blazer 4X4 Tahoe LT, When taking off its strong but when i get to about 20 mph it take a Lil to shift and the from 20 to 35-40 its OK but i let off the gas and hit it again it revs very high and i have to Punch the gas and it still takes a few to shift and its getting really bad i am getting very upset with it and its really important i get it fixed i bought from friend who had it and he always floored the gas so i don't know, Maybe the bands need adjusting becasue of the last owner always flooring it.

If the fluid is full and has good color to it (red), then you are likely looking at a worn out transmission. Not too good for you... You might want to have it looked at by a transmission shop for confirmation though.

mines having similar issues with mine. what i found out is the kevlar belts on the inside on the transmission are worn out and takes a little more to catch correctly. eventually that belt will wear through enought then snap. causeing the transmission to go out.

honestly i couldnt tell you. im still riding on mine until it does go out. when it does go out i plan on swapping the motor and tranny out of it from one from a 89 4x4 that i took out of my other blazer i had. i know on www.eatmyshift.com you can get a brand new one for about a grand. but thats a performance transmission so you might be able to find one cheaper somewhere else.

No adjustment to bands.

Find a local tranny shop and ask the same question. Tell them what it is doing and they will give a real estimate for your area.

I just answered a thread on replacing a tranny and listed all the option pros and cons. Should still be on the first page or so of the tranny forum.

i thought your body style would have the 700R4 but i could be wrong. but if you have the 4L60E then that would work fine.
