Default Transmission problem

Something is wrong with my Transmission and im not sure what it is, My wife and I went to the store drove maybe 5 miles away my blazer was running fine. When we got back to the blazer i put it in reverse and it slammed into reverse jerking the car. So then i put it in over drive and now all it does is rev really high in 1st gear only getting to 5 mph before it slams into 2nd and will not shift after that. Driving it home i noticed it had a buzzing notice coming from the transmission i think.

Hoping this is not going to be a complete trans rebuild.

Best to have a reputable trans shop look it over

Looks like a good tranny however, you have to pay for shipping ( I believe, didn't check close) and labor to have someone pull the old one and hook up the new one. I think your best bet is to have a reputable local shop do the rebuild. It cost me 1350, with a 1 year 12,000 mile warranty.

Anyone suggest checking the fluid? If it was driving fine then 5 mins later wouldn't shift I'd be looking for a trans fluid leak. The torque converter will pump that sucker out FAST. Yes that's from personal exprience lol

TY TY I'd check the cooler lines at the trans & at the rad for signs of a leak. Maybe as they pulled into the lot to park something hit a line or the trans pan & it leaked out as they were inside shopping!?

i can attest to tranny cooler line gettin knock out.
it was very loud though..when that log took it out i thought something went thru the floor....i bet i had a great "ohhhh schitt!!!!" look on my face.

but yeah...pumped it dry by the time i got out to look at the damage.

I checked the fluid a few diff times in the trip home, everyone keeps telling me my sun shell broke when i put it in reverse. I just gave up on it for now i have a company truck i can use for whatever i need. September i will be fixing my 96 blazer.
