Your MLPS is adjusted incorrectly or the shift cable is out of adjustment. Unhook the shift cable from the transmission. Put the shifter in park and then put transmission lever in park position and and adjust cable to meet the lever. Then adjust the MLPS so vehicle starts in park and neutral.

Anything is possible.lol! I don’t see that being the problem as there is a manifold pressure switch that will monitor the fluid pressure that is being directed by the manual valve. Really interested in what it turns out to be. What does the transmission do if put in D and driven? Shift correctly 1-2-3on it’s own?
