Default Transmission Trouble.

'97 Blazer, The other night, It was difficult to accelerate the efficiently. If you tried to accelerate too hard it would only creep up slowly, but if you go slowly and almost pump it, it works better, there's enough fluid, its getting to the darker side, so it needs to be changed, but is there anything else that could be causing this? Before when this first started, once you got about 30mph, it was fine, but now it won't even get up to thirty. Any advice?

Temporary fix IE: bandage might be Lucas Transmission Fluid, but it seems the trans is in need of a rebuild etc. When it "creeps up slowly" how are the engine revs, high, low, sputtering? To me it sounds like belts slipping or a messed up torque converter.
I'd change the filter & oil, add a quart of Lucas when you fill it & see how that affects it. Maybe a wire is off a solenoid on the trans? Get under & see if anything seems odd.

If vehicle does not start moving or accelerate with RPM increase, check fluid level. If it's fine, you can try a filter/fluid change but I'd bet good money it's toast and needs rebuilt.
