Exclamation Transmission Will Not Go Into Park

I have a 1994 Chevy S10 Blazer and the Tranny will not go into Park. I am pretty sure that the gear selector is off but I am not sure. The adjustment for the gear selector is on the Tranny and I have been told to loosen the nut and move it into park, but I am not sure on how to go about this. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The cable should have some adjustment to it. If it is anything like my '95, there is a metal or plastic retainer that must be removed to allow adjustment of the cable(located at transmission). Once that retainer is removed it should allow for manually moving the linkage into the 'Park' position. Reinstall the retainer and it should be set. Follow that by verifying that it shifts into each gear.

I got it. Had to loosen the nut(1). Then move the gear back into park(2). Then tightened it back up(3).

Default Got Park, lost 1st!

The instructions above worked for my 2000 S-10 pick up. But I lost the position for 1st gear on the auto transmission. This is no big deal because at least my truck won't roll away from me anymore.
Now I have another problem and I don't know if is correlated with the transmission. My ignition key will not go into the LOCK position. I can't not pull the key out and the light indicator for the transmission (P R N D 3 2 1) remains on, killing the batter. I pulled the 15 amp fuse when I park the truck to save the battery.
Do you thing the ignition cylinder is messed up and needs to be replace or is tied into the linkage adjustment to the tranny?

Readjusted the linkage to the tranny, and the ignition key works great. Thank G-d. I was almost ready to replace the ignition key cylinder. Thanks to all the above for their info. Kid.
