Default V6/V8 - Questions about engine choice

Firstly hey all, I'm brand spanking new here. Names Nick and I live in the wonderful NH. Now that I got that out of the way I have some questions I could help answering.

I have a '94 S10 Blazer Tahoe 4x4 V6. It just recently had some serious issues with what I believe to be the bottom end of the engine. It could be a cheep fix, or I could end up needing a new engine (we will find out when I tear it apart in the next few days) Here's my question.

I am home from college for the summer so I have some time to work on this, I am wondering if I should drop in another V6 in or move up to a V8. It is totally stock at the moment, except for some slightly larger tires. I want to give her a small lift (3-4in) in the future with larger tires so that's why I was thinking about the V8.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I am looking to keep this as cost effective as possible, It is used as a daily driver and also a bit in the woods whenever I get the chance. Also does anyone have a recomendation for where to get a rebuilt engine in the NH, MA, VT, ME area?

Thanks in advance for any/all help and I look forward to getting to know some of you peeps around here.

v8 swap is obviously gonna cost more and take longer to do. 4.3 is plenty powerful enough for stock or slightly bigger tires. i got 33s and a 4.3 and its about perfect, anymore slower and it would be a turd. google around about the v8 swap see all the work that is involved and see if its something y ou want to do.

definitely a v8 swap is gonna be a lot more work. The 94 era v-6 are plentiful from junkyards and would be a lot cheaper and time consuming ( also a lot less of a headache)
