Default Water Pump Gasket Installation?

Do I need to use RTV gasket material on my new water pump? The new Bosch water pump came with gaskets. This is on 01 Blazer 4.3L. Seems like maybe the gaskets are okay to install w\o additional RTV?

Sealer is not recommended. That's what the gasket is for.

Just changed my water pump on my '94. Trash the RTV and use the gaskets.

A very thin coat of RTV on both sides of the gasket will fill any imperfections in the metal and offer a better seal. The RTV will also hold the gaskets in place during assembly.
