Default wath engine oil do i use?

I need help.
I don't know what oil to use on the engine and automatic gearbox on my chevrolet s10 4.3 l v6 1988 which oil is best?
i can't find out wath oil to juse.

The topic of the 'best' oil is quite controversial and has been discussed before. There really is no right answer here. The weight of the oil depends on your climate. If you are in a cold climate, 5w30. Warm, 10w30. 10w30 can be used even in a slightly cold climate as well.

As far as your transmission goes, Dexron III or newer will work with your 700R4. The new Dexron VI is good stuff and GM states that it is backwards compatible with all Dexron III requirements.
