Default Weird coolant

I have a small to medium coolant leak on my 1997 Blazer 4.3. It usually only leaks when running. I have noticed a puddle on the passenger floor as well. The leak might be coming out of the rear intake is what I am told but looking for some opinions on what this might be and how much it will cost to fix. thank you in advanced

well, it would seem that your heater core is leaking as well. that one is pricey to have someone else do it, very time consuming if you do it yourself!

It is possible that it is leaking in both places, but it definitely is leaking from the heater core. The heater core is the only way for coolant to get inside the passenger compartment. You would have to inspect a bit closer to determine if you actually have a leak on the engine.

well I called on the intake and just to replace the gasket would be 500. Where can I look to see exactly where it is leaking. Has anyone tried the stop leaks in this department and might that work

The Intake gasket replacement shouldnt cost you that much, unless you are going to the dealership (=big$$). I got mine done for like $250 parts, labor, and tax included. Just my opinion, and it wouldnt be too hard to do yourself, I didnt cause I was at school, didnt have all my tools with me nor the time/facilities to do it.

I am going to attempt to replace the heater core because for 40 bucks and some of my time is alot better then $500. It only seems to leak inside the right under the front of the cab. I am thinking heater core for sure so will try it. Any tips to my the dash removal easier?

Take your time, label all connectors and screws. Wear a pair of gloves. I would say to get a Haynes or Chiltons Manual. My Haynes gives a decent rundown of the procedure to remove the dash, and a few pics as well!!
