What Shift Linkage Do I Use After Tranny Swap?
Here's my issue and it sucks. I've been putting up with it way too long.
I have a 94 S10 Ext. Cab Pickup...The tranny in it is from a 95 Blazer. 4L60-E. The guy that did the swap for me cobbled the linkage together so now when the truck is parked, it's actually in reverse with the parking brake on. When I start the truck I have to immediately shift into neutral. If I want to be in over drive, I have to push down on the column shifter so the reverse lights don't come on. As you can tell this would be bothersome. So this is my question, What shift linkage can I use so everything lines up the way it's supposed to. I know the Blazer had floor shift in it so the cable would be shorter than a column shift cable. Did they make Blazers with column shift for the 4L60-E's? I'm not even sure how much he altered to make it "work" If he had to modify the bracket on the tranny or if it was just the linkage from both vehicles he altered to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Alright, for what i remember, the lever that comes out of the transmission into the shift bracket is different from a 700r4/4l60 column shift due to it being a floor shift. You need to get the lil lever out of a column shift trans, drop the pan and swap them out. The bracket that connects to the trans should still be the same.
