I think I'm gonna have to slot my clamp a little more for that.

Or better yet pull the distributor and turn the rotor 1 tooth clockwise from present position (if rotor clockwise is the position where it runs)

Did so and was very careful to get timing correct. Same results as before. Don't know where to go next. Should I set timing back to one tooth off to see if that helps?
Yes and then check cmp retard

Ok, that will be next. If it adjusts in range being a tooth off, what does that indicate?

It would indicate that your balancer outer ring has slipped and this led you to install distributor incorrectly. No shame!

I'm thinking your big issue before messing with distributor was probably the PO200 causing the P0300 and P0303 misfire codes. Bet the P0341 and P1345 came later when trying to correct distributor position using balancer marks.

So I suspect you will still have the P0200 after you get the cam sensor retard fixed. But it should run again. We can cross that bridge.....

I set distributor 1 tooth clockwise ( I say it this way because at this point I don't know if that's advanced or retarded, but this is where it was when I got the truck). Truck runs again. At a straight up setting CMP RTRD was at -25.2. After twisting distributor around I've got it to-3.8, that is, when I can get Dash Command to connect. The numbers also seem to jump around a lot. The more the engine heats up the worse it runs and the O/P gauge drops. I am at a loss as to what to do with this thing.

OK - lock it down on -3.8 and we will start to diagnose the P0200, which I suspect is your real problem. I take it that the SES light comes on, correct?

First clear all codes.
Run until SES light comes on
Read new codes and report please.
