what tranny
S10-Blazer tranny's go like this.
700R4/4L60 up to and including '93. In '93 Gm started using the 4L60E in the S10-Blazers.
As for your question, are you wrong. The anwer is yes and no.
Technically, yess you are wrong. However the 700R4/4L60 and 4L60E tranny's are basically the same thing. The only difference is the way the tranny shift points is controlled. The E mans they are computer controlled. Prior to the E version they were controlled via a TV cable off the trottle linkage.
Other then the valve body section the 700R4/4L60/4L60E use the same internal parts, even in the fullsize trucks. The differnec being the number of clutches in the clutch pack, and the number of pinions in the roller assemble. You can take the clutch pack from a 90 degree 4L60E tranny and place it in a 700R4 60 degree tranny. 90 degree would be the 4.3L V6 and all Small Block Chevy engines, the V8's. The 60 degree tranny is behind the 2putt8 V6. I know it works, I took them out of my '00 with 100,000 miles on them and swapped them into my '87.
Sorry I degress, TMI.
