Default what's this hose for?

Does anyone know what this hose is for, where it was attached? I found it hanging out of the passenger side fender well opening on my 1998 Blazer, just at the inside front of the tire. It looks like a drain hose of some kind, and it looks like it came from somewhere directly underneath the battery. It has about a 1 inch 90 degree turn and is around 6 inches or so long. Thanks for any replies.

A picture and a little more info on your truck would be helpful.

Seems like it's the drain hose for you radiator. Look underneath your radiator, on the passenger side near the battery, there should be a drain where the hose will plug into.

Might also be the overflow hose for the coolant recovery tank....

That is exactly what it is for. When you pull the petcock, it will drain through the hose and not onto the core support.

Here is a photo of the hose that is located on my 2000 where you say yours is...mine dumps right by the front drive shaft...it is longer than 6in..

That is the over flow drain line, for like if it boils. It helps keep the overflow tank from expanding and then blowing. Kind of does like a pressure release valve on an air tank or a water heater.
