Default whats the part thats threaded into the driverside head?

i thought it was the tempature sending unit, it looks like this

but that website says its a ignition knock sensor for a 1999 my truck is a 93 s10, does it even have a knock sensor. the wire is completely broken off and i been looking for a pig tail for it

edit... guess i found it. its called a
GM Coolant Sensor Knock Sensor Repair Pigtail

interesting. wonder if its a 2 in one sensor or something. my temp gauge wasnt working and that must be the culprit.

temp sensor is on passenger side of the block...what we see here is the knock sensor.

Doesnt that live on the back side of the block by the distributor and oil pressure switch?? or is that only on newer models?

There are two knock sensors: one on the driver's side cylinder head and one on the back of the block below the distributor.

interesting, never knew that. this truck has been the most trouble free truck i have ever owned so never really had to mess with anything under the hood. i started it up today and let it run for like 20 minutes when i noticed the temp gauge hasnt moved and thats when i discovered this wire busted off.
