Question Why does it start with fuel pressure at 54

Over the last couple of months there have been periods where my 97 blazer would fail to start and finally I got to doing some troubleshooting after reading several threads in the forum.

This time the truck did not start after not being driven for a week.

I charged the battery and hooked up a fuel pressure gauge.
The car started right away however the fuel gauge was at 54

All signs point to fuel pump replacement however I wanted to see if anyone has anyone experienced these type of symptoms.

Cheers

Thanks
I should have stated that it does prime to 54.
I will go ahead and get a pump fitted.

I read through some forums and priced an oem pump at rockauto.
Can i assume this is where most of the members go for oem purchases.?
