Default Will not shift out of park

I have an 07 trailblazer with a V-6 that I just changed the transmission on. Now it will not shift out of park .I Used the manual override button under the console to get it out of Park. When I do this it shifts fine. But once you put it back in Port the button on the shifter will not release.Anyone else had this problem?
Thank you

There is a solenoid in the center console that should engage after pressing on the brake pedal, allowing the button to be pressed and the shift lever moved. It could be that you are either having a problem with the solenoid itself or that the mechanism it actuates has too much resistance (dirty/gummed up). It is also a possibility that you are seeing the beginning signs of an ignition switch failure.

By the way, your TB has an inline 6, not a v6. ;-)
