will this transmission transfer work?
It is a great deal of work to swap out the tail shaft to make that transmission mate up with your transfer case. It would be much easier to get a transmission from a 4wd pickup or blazer to swap in. Any 4L60E from a 4wd application will work and that includes anything from a fullsize pickup so long as it is the 4L60E and not the 4L80E.
Ok, thanks. The reason I ask it that my friend's pickup has a busted camshaft and he's basiclly getting rid of it, which brings up another question. Could the engine from my 4WD Blazer fit in his 2WD pickup?
4.3L to 4.3L, the only difference I can think of between the two engines may be the remote oil filter adapter.
Ofcourse, I didn't think to ask what engine was in this S10 pickup. If it's a 4 cylinder, the transmission bell housings are different...
