Well I just finished the LIM gasket change. That wasn't so bad, but now I can't get it started. When I turn the key it sounds and feels like it will start, It's so close then all of a sudden...BAM all the power cuts out, it just dies. I need all of the blazer gods of this forum on my side for this one. It may be something simple, but me being not very knowledgable about vehicles brings me to this forum for your help. Ideas?

Also, I charged the battery and tried and it did thw same thing, before it "dies" it takes about 5 seconds of it cranking. That makes think It's not the battery, a few dys go it would start up not even a second after turning the key, now it won't start at all

are you 100% sure that you hooked everything up? that is the first thing, I would hop under the hood, and check EVERYTHING.
Also, are you sure you got the firing order correct with the plug wires.

They are correct. I believe I know my problem, maybe not. When putting the distributor in I couldn't get the cap to line up exacrly where it was before, so I think my timing is off. I've read threads about it but still don't know what to do to fix it.

Did u mark the dist at the base before you pulles it? If it wont line up...disconnect the battery and turn main crank by hand slowly to have to drop in and line up....if she is off even a hair you arent going anywhere. What ever you do dont force the dist shaft...you will have more problems.

Not sure what you have, but here is the link for an EDI engine if you need to start from "boo" putting the distributor in. https://blazerforum.com/forum/tech-a...-timing-24373/

No, unfortunately I didn't mark it. Thanks for the tips. To fix all tge timing problems do I put # 1 to TDC, make sure the marks are lined up, then jjust line the distributor shaft marks, then line the cap with the 6?

If you have the distributor cap that is flat, you have the EDI setup. Use the link. It will tell you everything you need to do. Remember that you need #1 cylinder to be at TDC on the COMPRESSION stroke. Otherwise, you will be 180 out. Also keep is mind that #1 and #3 spark plug wires are reversed compared to what you would think. Look at the pic on the link to insure you have the wires routed correctly.

Ok, I'll just go by the pic to find the plug. It doesn't sound too hard to do

I set everything the way it should be to be in time(I think) and It still wont start. It sounds like it is going to but doesn't. I don't have a scan tool to reset everything though. Is that NEEDED to start it?
