1974 K5 Blazer Brake Booster
Hello, I need to replace my Vacuum Brake Booster and I am not sure which one be correct or better choice between a single diaphragm or a double diaphragm. My K5 has a 9" lift 35" tires, factory front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. I would rather ask those that have better knowledge, then an over-the-counter parts clerk. Thank You

A single diaphragm booster would be fine for a stock brake setup unless space is a concern either now or down the road (big block swap?). Dual diaphragm boosters are smaller in diameter so they provide more space for taller deck blocks and/or tall valve covers. They also can provide more brake assist for 4 wheel disc brake systems even though they are smaller in diameter.

Thank for your reply, I think what is on my 74' K5 is dual diaphragm after comparing pictures. The model of the K5 is Cheyenne and I think it may have some upgrades in that particular model.

I thought about a Hydro-boost system, I may consider it if swap to a Big Block. Right now it has a 400 in it. I am going to get the Dual diaphragm booster as it sounds to be the best choice for wait I need right now. Thank all for your time.
