Default 1994 full size blazer sport

She’s been running a little rough always been very reliable though had somebody look at it and now he says I need a new motor said one of my cylinders is not getting any compression but then other people I talk to said it wouldn’t even run at all really with one cylinder not working but that’s not the case I just wonder if somebody else has a different opinion that might make Sense because I really want to get it up and running again love this car

A couple things.. "Full size Blazer Sport" - is this a Tahoe with a 5.7 or a 4-door S10 Blazer with a 4.3 ? (One has 6 cylinders and one has 8.)

Now, as to no compression... DO you have an engine compression tester tool that has told you one cylinder has low or NO compression? (Bent/burnt valve, timing issue, hole in piston, could be the worst.. This after you checked for spark and fuel .)

Had two Blazers (S-10 4.3s) now run on 5 out of 6 cylinders.. for awhile. One had a messed up valve and likely had a compression issue, as evidenced by a spark plug electrode sucked out of one plug . That engine never did quite run right after that no matter what, and ran on 5 out of 6 cylinders allll the way up to including and past its farewell voyage from North NJ to the middle of PA somewhere. The second one (my present one).. turns out my misfire was as simple as the plug wire came off (it was never on securely in the first place.) That one is now running perfectly.

Have you verified compression, or can you hear an anomaly in startup?

Both engine types V6 and V8 will perfectly run on 5 respectively 7 cylinders. The V6 a bit rough, a V8 a little less rough thou.
Many people do not realize they run a V8 with one or even 2 cylinders down.
So as to your question, yes, they run and develop power. A good thing to do? No! As one cylinder is getting fuel which is not burnt. This fuel will cause all kinds of problems.

93S10TahoeLT, that may have been the cause for your V6 to never run smoothly afterwards. Driving even a short while without ignition kills the piston rings seal on the cylinder. May even run afterwards but with lots of blow-by or all other kind of problems. (oil consumption, low compression)
