Default 4x4 question for my 92 k-1500 blazer

i recently went with some friends to play in the mud. we all locked in our 4x4 and tore off thorough the mud. about half way through i notice my rear sliding out away fromthe front and throwing rooster tails. i also had slowed down almost stuck. i looked down at my lever and it had popped back into 2 HI.

Is that normal when playing that hard. i traded my 95 4runner for this blazer and it never did that. any ideas.

oh but all joking aside i was going through some deep stuff in 2wd quite impressed with this toy.

Not normal. My '94 Yukon stayed locked-in like it was on a mission. Are you sure you were all the way in?...no pun intended.. I do know on mine if it wasn't completely engaged it would kick back out.

An out of adjustment shift lever can cause this. You also may want to look at the transmission mount. If that is bad, it could allow too much movement between the body/frame and the transfer case which can cause it to pop out of 4wd. This is especially true when playing hard.
