an update (hopefully the last): after changing out the ignition control module today, all is running again. took a long route around, but this seems to have fixed the issue. keep your fingers crossed.

the problem could also be bad grounds my 87 use to have a hell of a time starting till i ran new grounds to it now it starts up like a dream.

starts normal then runs for a bit then batterys dead is that correct and it stalls after what say 20 mins

Gas, i have to keep tapping the gas pedal to keep it from shutting down.
