I have an 88 FS w/ the 5.7 and the fuel pump has quit on me. I'm looking to replace it but don't want to remove skidplate, hitch and drop tank. I want to cut a hole in the rear cargo area to access the tank. Does someone have the measurements to do this? Yeah I know, I'm cutting corners but as my name says this is a beach buggy that has been sentenced to a death via saltwater.

I know guy's that have done it, don't know exact measurements. Since you'll have to patch with a different floor might as well eyeball a starting point and go at it with a big hole saw. figure out from there how wide you need to go to get good access. Enlarge as needed.

Just don't cut through the supports under the floor! If you can look from the wheel well & see where the supports are, measure to the back lip. Then cut out the area between the supports.
I could take some measurements from the hole in the back of my '74 left by a previous owner, but I'm not sure if the supports are in the same locations on the newer trucks.
I'm going to end up making a flush mount cover using some stainless socket head flat screws to keep the access, but hide it just the same.

then look under the truck and see where the bit is and you can kinda measure from there where the hole needs to be cut.
