I am coming to find that my problem is several issues and yours may be too. since you have a code 33 I would suggest you replace all the vacuum hoses if you haven't already. It is cheap and easy especially since the k5 doesn't have many vacuum lines. I would also suggest pulling out your ecm(take off your glove box via the bolts on the bottom and you will have easy access) open it up and take a look inside. I found I had a couple burnt traces and some very bubbly looking traces. I replaced mine and have had great improvement but the problem is still there. I would also try temporarily bypassing any vacuum controlled parts one at a time and see if any of them are restricting flow to the rest. Just make sure to plug anything that had a hose on it when you are doing this. Let me know how it goes and good luck.

It sounds like we have a similar problem. I have a 1990 350 tbi auto. It idles itself up and down, but when i give it gas it sounds fine. It also hesitates real bad when accelerating and wants to die at redlights. I've replaced the fuel filter, tps, map sensor, distributor cap and rotor, O2 sensor and a bunch of vacuum lines. None of those have helped any.

I am very interested in the results, mine is currently running very rough (in park) under light throttle, 1000 to about 1500 rpms, then smooth as can be. it drives fine, only other issue is that it is running pretty rich, no smoke just an overwhelming smell of fuel

Results for mine= Getting ready to sell it. I'm no mechanic but can do damn near anything on a vehicle and STILL cannot figure this one out. $1500 in parts later I have no choice but to call it quits.

I have not posted it here yet because I never received my title from the state (been almost a year now). Going to apply for lost title this week.

Here are some basics but let me know if you want to know anything else.

94k miles ( I believe this to be accurate judging by the way it ran an drove when I first had it)

Some of the new parts...
Starter
Distributor
dist. Cap and rotor
Full TBI rebuild
New gas tank and fuel pump/sending unit (not installed)
Intake manifold gaskets (not installed)
New power and negative cables
Fixed The MANY bad wire splices done by previous owner
New used MAP sensor
New ECU
33x12.5x15 mud tires (less than 500 miles)

The body is rusty and have just been riveting in patches as needed
cruise control does not work
fuel gauge does not work (hence new fuel tank etc.)

Theres alot more but Ive put so much work and money into this I can't remember everything Ive done.

I also have new neutral safety switch and ignition switch floating around somewhere. Doesn't need them just got them cause they were cheap and have a tendency to fail.
