91 Full Size Blazer just died
I have a 91 Full size Blazer with 170k miles on it. 350 TBI. It just decdied it was not going to start after running a couple of errands yesterday. Up until this point it has been reliable. It has about 1/2 tank of gas in it. It turns over and the fuel pump sounds like it is priming itself. ( Fuel pump was replaced about 1 Year ago) This tells me that the fuel pump relay is more than likely good since it primes itself. I am going to run up during lunch and spray some stater fluid in it to see if it turns over. Anybody have any thoughts in regards to this ? For the most part what electrically will fail and cause this issue. Yes I am asking someone to guess based on experience. Also all fuses are good. Checked them first paying particular attention to the ecmb fuse.

Have you actually put a pressure gauge on the fuel inlet side to verify the required 8-10psi of pressure? Is there any fuel spraying from the injectors?

Did it fire when you sprayed starting fluid in it . Just wondering because maybe your not getting spark , bad coil or distributor cap .

Fuel Pressure is ok
Thank you for the suggestions....
Fuel pressuer measures 10psi at the inlet. Starting fluid obviously did no good. It appears to be getting fuel. I decided to take a quick look at roter and inside of cap. After loosening cap i needed the ability to move it around and went to pull the center coil wire off of the cap. Both the wire and the terminal came off in my hand. Large amounts of corrosion. I replaced the cap and the rotor after this figuring I would have to do this anyway. Still no spark. However the center coil wire was very corrroded so I will replace this before going any further. Can someone tell me the readings I would have off the coil to tell if it was good or bad ?? Thank you in advance for any help anyone can provide.

Problem Fixed
After replacing the coil and still not having any spark the only thing left was the control module in the distributor. After installing a new control module the vehicle fired right up and seems to run better then before. Thank you for giving me suggestions in regards to this and a great forum.
