Default clicking sound when steering?

I have a 72 k5, and recently when i pull it into the garage, everytime i turn the steering wheel to line it up the front end makes a sound like im popping bubble wrap with my front tires. its like a loud clicking popping sound. it only happens when the vehicle is not moving. anyone have any ideas as to what it might be? thanks!

Have you tried lubricating the steering linkages and ball joints?
