Engine Oil dipstick

I bought a dipstick today and before i opened it i relized it is for a 67-79.. my engine is a 85.. will it work or not.. They do not carry one specific for my year at autozone

PLEASE DONT USE IT IF YOU ARE NOT CERTAIN
Its imperative that you have the right dipstick for your engine. a little shorter or a little longer changes the oil level and could mean the difference between the correct amount of oil and a seized up motor.
I've got an 87-95 up engine in mine and I had to put a stupid looking "tuner" dipstick in mine when I built it. It's billet steel and looks like a Honda accessory....but I have the right amount of oil in the pan, and that the most important thing.
