Default Front seats

I bought my 79 k5 in 2013. The front seats have obviously been redone at some point, problem is that I cannot find the recline lever, and so, I have been driving the car with the most upright position. Question: Is it possible that this car came with stiff seats from the factory? or, should I look for the lever or its base, under the fabric?

Believe it or not, K5's for the most part didn't come with reclining seats. My folks had a '76 with one position other than folding forward to allow folks to get in the back.

I suspected it. Not happy to confirm it, though. Mine is exactly like your dad's, stiff front seats, passenger seat folds forward to allow access to the rear bench.

Well, I guess I will continue to sit up and drive like a good soldier as long as I have the Wall-e-nator.

Cheers.
