hey, my gas gauge is acting up strangely. When i start it up, its not even between the hash marks. Also when on the road, its a clock, just turns and turns. Im wondering if i need to hit a reset button or something because about to start driving it on the road and dont want to run out of gas.

P.S. I know the fuel pump works great. starts up and everything, and hasent died yet

 

im guessing something is wrong with your sending unit then. check the wire that runs from the unit back to the cab to see if it is disconnected somewhere. thats where i would start. i took the tank out of mine cause it had a leak in it but i took a look at the sending unit and everything and the wire is just a little clip on thing. looks like it could have easily bounced off. mine is also a 74 so that might be a little different from your 85 i think it is?
