Hello All
My name is Steve. I recently purchased a 90 Blazer for 2k. It ran ok and looked ok to me...a bit of rust visible, but to my untrained eye it looked worth it. I took it to a body shop with the hopes of getting all the rust fixed and the truck painted. The shop said the frame is rusted too bad and the truck is a money pit. The interior and everything else is in good shape and I already invested 1500 in wheels and tires. Should I scrap the truck, seek a second opinion, or find a like model from a state where they dont rust.

these trucks are notorious for being rust buckets. i got sick of buying trucks in the midwest to offroad with just to have to build another one in a few years due to it falling in half. so i basically did what you said i went down south and found a frame and body for cheap. its worth the extra grand for shipping just not to have to deal with the rust, i went down and got it myself for $250 in gas.
but yeah if its not that rusted and runs fine just drive it how it is or sell it, people are always looking for good 4x4s
