How hard??
I am curious on how hard it will be to put one of these in my truck?? will i have to do anything special or is it just a plug in to where thescan tool goes??http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/pe...987&partid=175
There is an access panel on the ECU that you remove and then just (carefully) pull out the old PROM and install the new one. Try to remove and install them keeping them straight so that you don't bend the pins.
I've only ever taken out the "super chips" and put the originals back in to cure some drivability problems that the owners were experiencing. I hear some people swear by them but I don't know first hand.
Theymight lower MPG, but MPG will always depend on how much lead you have in your right foot...these chips are programed to increase HP and that usually means adding more fuel into the air/fuel ratio. If you have other modifications like aftermarket intake and exhaust headers then the chip might pay off.....
