Default a.i.r. pump question

So I have a 1985 blazer, and I'm starting to have problems getting it inspected. Is there any way to find out if my truck came with an A.I.R. pump or not. All the parts for it are gone now, and I have headers on it. If I can proof it didn't come with an A.I.R. pump than I don't have to put one on. Thanks for any help guys

Yes, as far as I can tell all the stickers under the hood are still there. Like the emissions hose routing sticker for like the egr and PCB valve, but it does not say anything about an air pump.
I was looking around online and found something that said if it is a federal car it does not have the air injection system. does anybody know if this is true. if it is true then i'm good, because i'm about 99% shore its a federal. i'm going to look it up by the vin.

If you have the AIR injection system on your Blazer you will have a smog pump, and steel lines running to the exhaust manifolds. This system, if memory serves me correctly, pump fresh air via the smog pump, into the exhaust manifolds. Easy way to tell, steel lines and fittings in the exhaust manifolds. Alot of people took the pump off and just cut and pinched the lines at the manifolds if they wanted to get rid of it.

I should have mentioned that the engine has been changed four times. It originally came with a 305. When I bought it the guy had put a 400 in it. The manifolds had ports for the steel lines, but they had bolts blocking them off. I've been told that all the manifolds were made with the ports, and the factory would block off the ports for the cars that were not going to have the pumps. I have headers on the truck now. I did talk to someone at the Chevy dealer, and he said that if it was a federal or standard emissions it did not come with a pump. Only the California ones came with it. So I think I'm good on that.

I had the same question a few weeks ago. The GM dealer gave me my answer. Just bring your original rpo codes to them.
