Default knocking noise at bottom end of motor

It started knockin out of no where. I turned the truck off and i was 3 quarts of oil low. so i put oil in it and it stopped. Drove around for about 20 miles that night, no noises or anything. Well, the next day the truck wasnt running right. It wasn't wanting to go anywhere. It was acting like i was pulling a heavy load up a steep hill and just dragging. Id have to gun it for it to move and it would shift like at really high RPMS and just slam into gear. Well after about 10 mins of that it just kept dying then it started knocking at the bottem end of the motor. Any idea what it could be? IF the motor is screwd im just gonna throw a 350 in it

How is your oil pressure? Sounds like the bottom end is toast.

yeah sounds like your rod/crank bearings ate it, might need to rip that crank out and get it machined then replace the bearings and you should be good. Do not drive it anymore you will only do more damage or even worse, launch a rod through the block.

well im not gonna bother rebuilding it cause i want something bigger than the 305. Well, i found a 350 out of a 90 k5 and well its tbi. Id want to convert that engine into a carb instead of switching my truck over to fuel injected. Besides having to put a elec. fuel pump on is there really anything else id have to do? Everything should match up, right? Im just gonna pull the enging out whole and drop it into mine
