Default Lower Intake Manifold Leak

the lower manifold on my 1990 k5 has a decent leak in it. I took it to a local shop and got quoted with $1300 to replace it along with all the necessary hoses, gaskets, thermostat and what not.

Before just taking the guy on his word i figured i would come here to ask if that was a fair price or not. It did include labor and fluids as well. Im new to the area and unfortunately don't have a garage or driveway for me to work on it myself.

Sounds a bit high to me, just make sure the shop that is fixing your Blazer is a reputable place. $900-1100 sounds about right.

the reason he stated it was a bit higher was because they back it with a 12000 or 3 year warranty. which is covered at any NAPA certified shop. This also means i have to use all the parts they order, even if i could order them myself (some of which i have already) cheaper than they have quoted.

i've never had a car worked on in a shop which came with a warranty, which for something like this could be nice. I'm sure i could go to a shop without a warranty like that and get it done cheaper. I havent had the k5 long, and it appears to be all original. If i can get another 22 years out of new parts, i dont think the warranty would really be worth it.

figured i'd post here before handing the guy my money. but yes, it is a respectable place around here.
