Multifuction Stem

Default Multifuction Stem

Im changing my mulitfuction stem. Do I need to remove my steering wheel to replace?

Service manual for mine says steering wheel needs to be removed. I've never done it so there may be a trick to keep you from having to pull it though.

Mike, please put your vehicle information in your signature so that those of us trying to help do not have to look back through your posts to find your vehicle information.

If the 94 steering column is anything like the s-series, then it would be possible to remove the upper and lower steering column covers and swap out the multifunction switch without removing the steering wheel. As stated above, the book procedure does state to remove the steering wheel, same as the s-series repair procedure. In the later s-series columns, there is one screw that is quite difficult to get out with the steering wheel in place, but it is possible.

I would pull off the steering column covers and have a look at it.

all fixed. had to remove the wheel. thanks for the advice.
