Default new fuel tank new pump bogs on excelleration

hey guys, i have 89 5.7 tbi seriously damaged my fuel tank so put in a new one and removed the fuel pump, put an inline pump in instead idles fine once warm but stutters hard on excelleration.. i wired the pump directly to my ignition should i have ran it off the old wires?????? no love?? clean the egr doesnt seem to be the prob gunna do fuel filter and check fuel pressure this weekend and try to wire back to old wiring.... it runs fine in nuetral but not in gear pissin me off

Was the pump sized properly? Sounds like it isn't providing enough flow to the engine.

well id hope so ill double check with the rocket scientists at the auto parts store.....

If you can, get the appropriate 'T' fitting for the main fuel line and get a fuel pressure gauge hooked up so you can see it while you drive. That would let you know if you have a pressure problem. It should maintain 9-10psi.

ps i also bought a polymer tank and for future reference people clean it out well cause mine was full of crap...
