Unhappy No check engine light at start up

My starter just crapped out on me so I went and got a new one.I hooked every thing up.She turns over but she won't start.I noticed that the engine light dont even come on when I turn the key now.I tried to pull codes out and i cant get the engine light to come on at all.I dont even hear my fuel pump kick in when I turn the key on.1987 Blazer 5.7 with TBI.Could my computer have burned out from the bad starter?Or would a bad modual do this?

If you don't hear the starter turn over, then something didn't get connected correctly.

the starter turns over fine.when I crank it over,it seems like there is no power to the computer. The check engine light dont come on when I crank it over and I dont here the fuel pump kick in.

Default 1987 Blazer 5.7 TBI engine cranks over but wont start

I just put on a new starter and it turns over but it wont start. When I turn the key half way the CEL light wont come on and I dont hear the fuel pump kick in.I rechecked the wires and I noticed that the new starter has another small bolt were the wires hook up.In other words,my starter had 2 spots to hook up the wires ,and the new starter has 3.

If the starter is turning the motor over, then it is wired properly.

Sounds like maybe your ignition switch has failed.

even if I turn the key back to acc,the CEL light should come on for a moment but It doesn't so I'm pretty sure the ign. switch is ok.my next guess would be the coil or the ign. modual.I wish I new for sure, cause I dont have the money to throw around.

I wouldn't call that a confirmation that your ignition switch is acting normally...
