starter sounds different now?

Default starter sounds different now?
about three days ago my starter..started making a strange noise when i turn the engine on..any ideas or answers??....could it be that my starter is going out...or i need to tighten or adjust..im a newbie please help

Could you be more descriptive? What are you working on? Is the battery charged up properly? Does it still start the engine? Does it sound like it is spinning slower than it was previously? ETC.
