Default Tailgate hinge repair

The rear hinges on my 86 are gone. So therefore I have no tailgate. Is there a good easy way to repair this so I can put tailgate back on? Pictures are always good also.

Besides replacing the tail pan/rear structure for the hinges, not that I know of.

You could always go with a truck tailgate and a piece of plexi-glass.

Hinges are gone as in not there anymore?

Why don't you call around local junkyards and see if they have the same year in yard and either pull the whole tailgate, or just the hinges.

Ahhh, I didn't even think that he was talking about the surface being rusted out... Now the question makes sense...

Just ignore my idiotic blonde comment. I'm blaming that one on no sleep.

I found out the problem. The last owner replaced the back peice that the hinges bolted to, but didnt drill it out to install the hinges.
Looks like Ill be getting the drill and tap set out!

Looks like the rear brace was welded to the frame .
IDK if that will give a crappy ride or if it will even make a difference.
