interior lights stay on - door hinge?

interior lights stay on - door hinge?
The interior lights and door tone stay on. I have to pull the door toward me to get them to go off. Then a bump in the road makes them come back on. I've had some switch in the door replaced. Reading here makes me think it could be the door sag making this happen. Can I adjust or do I have to replace hinges or something else. Thanks!

RE: interior lights stay on - door hinge?
An independent mechanic tried to adjust the door, but that did not solve the problem. Just thought I would check here one more time. Does anyone know whether replacing the door hinges might fix this or could it be something else? Is this a common issue?

Its is possible there is rust in the switch?
If you depress the button switch all the way, will it keep the interior lights off? And also, is it only one door switch giving you trouble?
Soak it with WD-40 or even better, electrical parts cleaner and depress it a few times.

Door hinges are welded on.
Try to depress the switch with your finger and watch the dome light. The light should go out and stay out as you depress the switch all the way down. If the light flickers on and off as it travels to fully depressed , you have a bad switch.

Does the door "drop" when you open it??? I mean just a little??? This could mean worn hinge pins and yes, your hinges do go bad. Even though they are welded, the metal around the weld can even become weak and cause problems. Look carefully at the hinge pins and if the hole looks slightly oblong, replace the pins. Even if the hinges themselves are bad, sometimes the new pins will help anyway.
I dont think this is the problem if a jar sets things off. Bet the door latch isnt catching right. Make sure its actually staying closed. They are adjustable and also move sometimes.
