Default Tailgate motor

2 Questions:

1. Is the tailgate motor that Oreillys has is that the cable drive one. They call it a tailgate motor.

2. Is there a way too go back to a manual crank one???

Thanks in advance. Ralph

I would like to know also, I've got an electric one that is shot. I can't stand not being able to open it up without the motor working right. I'm gonna end up scrapping the guts outta my tailgate, taking the window out, and then putting on a soft topper to get rid of this problem.

The part that Oreilly's shows looks proper and at only $57... Wow.

To go back to the manual crank window, you need the regulator, clutch assembly, and the outer crank handle.

greendouglash, if you are going that route, just get a tailgate from a pickup and bolt it in.

That's a good idea, thanks I'll probably go to the scrapyard when I start that project.
