My friend has a 1987 throttle body 350 that would intermittently die at idle and now won't idle at all unless the timing connector is disconnected, then it runs perfectly at low to mid rpm/load. No codes except 42 from the connector unplugged and all the sensor data looks good. I can get it to idle with the connector plugged in by spraying carb cleaner in the TB but the IAS is wide open. PS while the engine is running in closed loop there are all kinds of codes PROM TPS ect, it seems like a PCM problem has anybody seen this before?
